My Gratitude List
I am 77, and I woke up this morning. I celebrated (as I do every morning)
I have been sober for nearly 12 years, and that is a lot to be grateful for.
My poor wife has put up with me for 45 years - absolutely grateful.
I was recently introduced to Stephen Batchelor, (through 2 of his books) who has given me some incredible food for thought regarding my agnosticism, and particularly how it will positively affect my sobriety, and on the philosophy of the Buddha.
My gratitude is now related to weakness, however. I am very limited on the philosophical teachings of the Buddha, and I am on a journey to learn as much as I can while I still can.
And that is one of the major reasons for me being here, and I'm looking forward to meeting every one of you. My philosophy is "There are no strangers, just friends that I haven't met yet."
