This is not a limerick, but I have a song for V as well, so here 'tis:
Has anybody seen my Venus
Has anybody seen my Venus
Has anybody seen my Venus girl?
She's a pretty good cat
And I love her so much
Has anybody seen my Venus girl?
You have to imagine a bit of a country twang, and a cat who loves hearing it.
Oh what a goose am I!!!! ♥

I just put my Grandson to bed
After much play and books read,
he prayed God bless Baxter
Many doggie songs after
Now he's singing alone in his bed
How did I once drink and make fuss?
When he came along with such trust
He says: "Gamma Kaffy,
Is Baxter home happy?
I said Bax is sleeping, like us.
I said: "When you look at the moon,
And sing your goodnight Baxter tune,
Know Gamma and Baxter are,
(Though we may live afar)
Gazing right at that SAME moon!
He thought that was so very funny
he's singing about moon amd puppy
While Gamma"'s in charge
We are living life large!

Stop coming to this room
to remove my gloom
I'll be tethered here forever
V your little kitty cat
knows just where it's at
You're the apple of her eye
You will always have a tie
To your wuvly puddly tat .

Gamma was still there last night
When grandson woke up in a fright
He said: "A monster came!" and then,
"He tried to bite me on the hand!"
Gamma gave that monster flight!
She said : "Monster, No, Now Git!!
In this house you do not fit!
This zone declared Monster Free!
Now don't come back and leave us be!"
Grandson slept, and bad dreams, quit.

Today I'm feeling a bit flat
PAWS, maybe it be that
I wish I was feeling better
That I had someone special to be here together
Someone with which to laugh and chat
I don't know why I'm feeling down
I used to love it when no one was around
Now I just feel alone
I don't mean to come here to moan
But who but you would listen to the sound?
I have much to be thankful for
Beauty outside my door
Someplace great to stay
Nothing wrong with today
Could I ask for anything more?
Yes, I wish just to open my eyes
Stuck thinking things I despise
If only I were to be here
Rather than wrapped in my fears
Surely they are all lies
But that doesn't mean
That real they don't seem
Why do I do this to myself?
Why not put the bad away on a shelf?
Why not a good day deem?

Once you've got it off your chest

Is purging and its smart
we don't think of you any less.
Maybe going for a walk

I know how you feel, dg
those same feelings happen to me
I live all alone
no dog with a bone
guess I could try talking to a tree
one thing that i'm trying to do
to help when i'm feeling blue
just try to stay
at living today
then tomorrow i'll start anew
we are so early in recovery
one day we'll look back and see
things really weren't that bad
just paws made us sad
and life rocks in sobriety
I find myself up rather late
for me not a healthy trait
3 meetings tomorrow
no time for alkie sorrow
some zzzzz's should have me feeling great
night, all
oh, one more rhyme I must add
to welcome gr to our pad
we met on the bus
hiked in the dust
a very cool time the busaloonies had
those same feelings happen to me

Got written in a really short time
My mind feels fried
I'm so overtired
Can't even think of a last line!

What an introduction , with a great limerick .
Well today couldn't get any worse
In sadness i am immersed
My dear darling friend
his life does suspend
With 24 hours by nurse.
He has a cheeky persona
But is now in a coma
His body is ailing
His kidneys are failing
I'm feeling his life is near over
He is by far not ready for heaven
He lost his parents at 11
Why do some people suffer
It could not get tougher
Good god he is only 27
I have left no tears for to cry
I have asked countless times why oh why
I'm too sick to visit
Its terrible isn't it
But why not, if he's going to die ;-(
But time must be bought
While he's on life support
This must be a dream
Such cruelty it seems
His fight indeed must be fought.
Michael hang in there for me
Because although you cant see
My heart is so broken
I just want you woken
before your spirits set free .

Mondays are always dull.
And thoughts are pushing my skull.
And future problems want to leap ahead.
And I just don't want to get out of bed.
But I am doing good and enjoy this thread.
