I slept last night!! Baby woke around 3, but was consolable, and I slept with her until just before 6. Ahhhh.... I love waking up without the awful feelings of "too much to drink last night." I'm having my coffee and morning smoke out on the patio before the sun (and everyone else) rises, and then will drive up to the corner store for the paper and smokes. I love this feeling of morning alone time.

I've started blogging to get my feelings out. I journal occasionally, but I like the idea of releasing my thoughts to a random public. I'm sure no one reads it, but it's just the idea of my thoughts being out there that helps to make them more solid for me. I write differently online than I do in my journal, and typing rather than writing lets me edit and change, which is not better or worse, just different. It also lets me get things out faster, which helps the flow of my thoughts.

Babs - Yay for a nice peaceful evening last night!

Morning moms...

Having my coffee and hoping to see the sun soon.

Babs...good job! Glad you had a nice night!!

Sarah...I love curry!!! It can be different here in the States...I remember I made it once for hubby because he loved eating it when he lived in Ireland. It wasn't the same for him, so I scoured the web for the type of curry made over there, and found a recipe he LOVED!

Hoping for a quiet day...just some gym time, and it looks like a nice day for some fall cooking/baking:-)

Morning!

Thanks, Dolly, for your response last night Helps to know I'm not the only one.

It still feels like summer here. Missing the cool, crisp autumn days We took my daughter to a pumpkin patch/fall festival yesterday and it was too hot out to enjoy!

Not sure what the plan is for today. Kind of feel like a day at home and maybe trying a new recipe for dinner? We'll see. Hubby is still sleeping, which is very rare for him as he NEVER sleeps in. He could be out all night drinking and still not sleep in. Me in the other hand .... love sleeping in, but not so much now that I am no longer hungover Anyway, daiughter is playing with a new toy/watching Disney JR so I am enjoying some "me" time.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday,

How are doing sunny, Imperfectlyme?

Grace, hope your night/talk with hubby went well

Hi all am ok just been manic had a load of my sons friends and their mums here yesterday and my husband has been out celebrating his 40th with a long bike ride and dinner with his friends yesterday... Feeling zapped stil from this virus and frustrated because I have put on weight from lack of exercise and comfort eating anyway tomorrow is a new week and hoping I will feel normal again soon! I think mt slip was caused by me feeling I'll and not getting better fast enough it was total self indulgence which only made me feel more ill!!! You are all doing so well!!!

Hey Dolly, I'm a huge curry fan - I think it's a British thing but ooooh a good butter chicken is amazing! Soooo greasy and stodgy and soooooo goooood

We'll today I got my roots done and got out in the bike with the hubby, stopped at a pub half way for Belgium chips (covered in Mayo) and a quick bev before getting on the bike and coming home - it was a lovely avo and rode home as the sun was setting - it was actually really awesome considering I was holding on for dear life am slowly but surely finding my feet with it

Oh a pumpkin fair sounds lovely Ladybug - wish we had things like that here

Anyways, am off to catch up with last nights X factor and homeland starts tonight - good telly at the mo

Oh and Sunny, glad you're on the mend - catch you all soon

Back on the diet tomorrow xxxxxx

Hi moms...

Rainy Sunday here, but days like this make me get my cooking on. Baked an apple cranberry pie, and sent Hubby to the turkey farm for a nice whole breast. Gonna have a turkey dinner with all the trimmings tonight and the pie for dessert:-)

This day would normally scream for a snifter of brandy, but only thought about it for a moment. Hope I don't have to deal with frequent cravings now that the colder weather is coming.

Anyway....did a solid hour of cardio at the gym, now for a shower and to getting turkey in the oven:-)

Here is a pick off pie...like my leaves on top?

Wow, lots of chatter on here today! It's like we are really all together, gab gab gab!

Not much time to post as I have to get the kids ready and we are off to church, but I wanted to let you know how last evening went. My husband responded so wonderfully! He was completely supportive and sweet. I talked for about 15 minutes straight as we drove around after dinner, I wanted to get everything out and not forget any point I wanted him to know. I feel so much better. He was wonderful, and now I feel like I am living the truth. Thanks for all of your positive words and thoughts. They really strengthened me!

Dolly, what a beautiful pie! I am impressed. And hungry.

Sarah, those pictures are just lovely. Riding on a motorcycle is on my bucket list, so your afternoon sounds heavenly to me!

Crazy waving at the rest of you! Stay strong!

Grace - I'm so glad it went well with hubby!! It really helps to have some support, and backing for when you're feeling a little weak.

Dolly - that is a beautiful pie. I love the leaves - did you cut them by hand? What a great idea. I think I'm going to make a pumpkin pie tomorrow (with butternut squash from the garden). I wonder... if I made leaves like that to put in the middle, do you think I could cook them on a cookie sheet for like 15 minutes while I pre-cook the crust (I always pre-cook my pumpkin pie crusts for about 15 minutes)? And then lay them on top near the end or after it baked?

Hi there...

Bebetter...yes, I cut them freehand using a knife and then also did the veins in the leaves with a butter knife. I would think you could bake them on a cookie sheet like you said...should be fine. Would probably look even better on the pumpkin pie...would stand out more.

Grace....so glad your talk went well with hubby. It really makes it do much easier!

Sigh...a hectic night here...daughter was really acting up. She seems to do it more when daddy is home...don't know why, and he sometimes yells at her for small reasons. Sometimes he lets her get away murder, then other times he Hollars at her for something stupid:-(

Ugh...just want my bed and peace and quiet!

Aww, Grace, so happy your hubby was wonderful and supportive. It really does make a world of difference

Had a really nice day. Went to church this morning with my mom and daughter, then did a little shopping with my mom while my daughter hung out at home with her daddy. It is so hard to clothes/shoe shop with a 3 year old. I have tried on numerous occasions and usually end up giving up and leaving with nothing (maybe that is a good thing, though lol!)

Finishing up some laundry, going to give my daughter a bath, and then go to bed! Well, I may eat some ice cream too Going to get back to the gym starting tomorrow. I feel like I have gained back the 7 lbs I recently lost.

Have a nice evening Mommas!!

Anyway my finances are really getting me down I don't have enough to get me to the end of the month... spent too much money on wine cigs when I slipped... also London cost a fortune my friend is on a big salalry and we ate out alot!! plus I paid for my Hubbys birthday night....ahhhhh... took a payday loan and had to pay that back.... too scared to ttell H...any advice????

Sarah I watched x factor and Dowtown and could not drag myself out of bed this am ..I have told my H to make me got to bed at 8pm tongiht!!!

excuse spelling speed typing here!

other thing really getting me down is the house we boughta site to build on 4 years ago and still havent sold this house sooo 2 mortgages and this house really needs some new floors and carpets and sofa's we have two dogs and the smell is ingrained it is really driving me up the walls ...plus because I havent been well I have had no energy to get really stuck into a good clean.

Happy Monday girls....

Sipping my coffee, and getting ready for work..blech!

Sunny....I hear you about financial woes. When I was drinking, I would take out those online "cash next day" loans. It would take me a while to pay it off because the interest was a nightmare. Things are much better now since I quit, but this month I paid a duplicate payment to my utility company (an extra $350!!!), so things were tight this week. And now Disney is about 5-6 weeks away, and we will need lots if money for that.

Anyway...time to pack lunches and get going with this Monday:-)
