Hi and welcome, Katie!

Hi to everyone else - Day 61 here and had a much better day today. Just need to keep reminding myself of all the positives of being sober. I know if I were to drink again now I would let it continue through the holidays and I do not want to spend another holiday season in that miserable drunk/hungover/foggy hell. No more. I promised myself, my husband and my daughter.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Feels like we are missing a few people?

Hi everyone! thanks for the nice warm welcome.

About once a week I have these dreams.... I'm sure some of you have had them. I'm drinking in my dream. Some dreams, I dont drink and I have to tell people I'm not drinking anymore and then other dreams I'm drinking - basically with the attitude, well, I had the first sip who care now... and I didnt care and I always wake up in my dream the next day HORRIFIED! thinking to myself (in my dream) why did i drink? I have to start over now... what did you do!?

I wake up and for the first few second I dont know if it was real or not and I'm so sad... then i realize I didnt drink and I dont know how to feel. Usually I start to feel good about things again.

I just wanted to put that out there... i'm sure its been said before.

Welcome Katie. Yes, have had a few drinking dreams, not so much lately....at day hmmm 68 here. Hope you get a lot out of the site. I didn't join til I was a few weeks into my sobriety also.

Ladybug, yes, noticed a couple missing. Fingers crossed all is ok. Been a rough couple of weeks for a few of us.

Drinking dreams are very common Katie. I figured that drinking was very important to me for a lot of years - it made sense I'd dream of it for a while.

68 days today.

Katie,I used to have dreams ,but I stopped eating ice cream at 10 pm.
But seriously,I had a rather disturbing one where I was falling down drunk at a local watering hole I used to frequent.
In the dream I fell to the floor and couldn't get up,and nobody helped me.
Thank goodness it's just crazy dreams.

I'm still sober and it's been more than 2 months without a drop. I'm a completely different person now.

Welcome Katie to this thread, good to hear everyone is. doing well

Day 85 for me and I'm going to have to stop count the days it's making me feel like I'm in jail counting the days. Why does it feel like staying sober is like torture sometimes if it keeps like this I will lose the battle in the future. As crazy as this sounds I'm fighting myself and in the end I will always win.
So I need to change my tactics about how to attack this problem. One think I can do is more hobbies and activities. Like five years I got away from a group of friends that use and drink. And it was a long process to kick all the bad habits and drinking was the last one. I guess it's just going to be a long process and need to build up my cognitive function of my brain overtime with good habits and thoughts. Rome wasn't build in a day, but they had to start one day. Also a journey of a million miles starts with on foot step.
