A new day and a new link

Good morning all ! Its a fresh page and a fresh day ! So many posts whilst I am asleep. I hope everyone is well and that you are fine, Lorelei ! Rochele, I trust you're on the mend too !

Last night was very mellow for me, chaired an AA meeting which was nice and cruisy. This morning, I did some speedwork (with my running group) which was tough but it made me appreciate being sober and being able to enjoy (?) the sensation of trying to spit out my lungs.

Now in the office and ready to face the remainder of the day: calm, sober and chilled

Thanks to all

I guess I should add to my list of "positive" things, that I found that out.

I posted somewhere that all I focus on is the negative; trying to change that. Is that a trait of addiction? To only remember all the bad stuff we have done?

Day 3 - Sober.

Feeling really low and I think I might be depressed. Not pickup a drink, using the resources on the site to over-ride my desire to drink. I keep remembering what it feels like the next day. I have to beat this addition to alcohol, I cant live like this.

There is light at the end of tunnel, I am sure there is. If I dont stop drinking now, I will never stop and WILL kill me.

I must do whatever it takes to keep clean. I wish this feeling low would pass, there is no viable reason for me to feel like this.

Must stay on this site until ready to sleep.

Holy crap guys! My co-workers water just broke. Sounds corny, but the miracle of life kind of makes you think about things :-)

Autan, good job on 3 days. Drinking makes depression worse at the end of the day, so I hope you try to stay strong.

Day ONE here again. Not losing hope especially after yesterday.

Day 20. Late at checking in as it has been a stressful day. I feel like having a drink to relax but resisting temptation. Have to think of something else to do to relax after stress.

Can you go for a walk and get some fresh air ? I find that clears my head when I am stressed. Also, meditation or at least taking some deep breaths through the belly and trying to clear all thoughts in my head. Posting here helps a ton as well

I found this quote very motivating :

Within 2 weeks my cravings lessened immensely... in both
intensity and duration

By 2 months they vanished
Have not returned in 20 years..

This probably sounds incredibly stupid (to those of you who can do them) but Sudoko takes my mind off EVERYTHING!! (Haven't solved one yet-not my strong suit, I guess you can say LOL).

Hi my fellow septemberites,
Yikes this thread moves quick, day 11, first day I've woken up without a headache yay. My kids have all been sick and home from school the last 3 days, they've all been very grumpy and have needed their mummy, so even though I've been tired I've been able to be present for them without being hung over. (most awesome feeling) today they've all gone back to school (would I be a terrible mother if I say I was relieved?)

I went to my meditation class last night, and have been reading the book "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle I've had so many aha moments reading it I just wanted to recommend it to you all, its all about mindfulness.

My AV has been knocking around in my head, "see your not alcoholic, you could just have one" "you've gone 6,7,8 ect days, 1's ok" lol. It's whinning at me now like a child, and even though I'm tired it's feeling very feeble to me these days.

Anyway I just wanted to check in hope everyones doing ok, and welcome to the new ones, sept class rocks, lots of love and support in here.

Just left on a business trip....triggers everywhere!! Bloody Mary on the plane? No!

Meet client after landing for a drink?

Mini-bar in hotel room?

Hotel bar with co-workers?

As Amy Winehouse said..."no, no, no!"

Gosh I hope I make it through this.
