Grateful that it occurred to me how to handle disappointment if I can't get this condo: Grateful to realize as long as I can honestly say to myself I tried my best, then if it doesn't happen, I know I did all I could. ( No "if I'd only done this or that" stuff.).

Grateful this occurred to me this morning when after a couple hours in the yard, I wanted to quit. I thought: EQ, are you giving your best effort? And I knew the answer was no. So I kept going.

Grateful to realize drinking conditioned me to quit at the first sign of a problem and drink.
Grateful to be cracking that old shell.

Also grateful to to get the nerve to put out requests to girlfriends and sisters for any small amount of help they can give this week. Doing that is very unEQlike.

Are you down there in the Southern hemisphere with nogard?

Grateful for accepting spending half my day lying down, trying to sleep, and still working toward changing it. Glad I know I have to accept a problem before I can do anything about it.

And grateful for letting myself enjoy a whole movie at the ex's. We watched Julia Sweeney's God Said, Ha. It's very touching. Glad I'm better at relaxing.

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful to know today that things can only cause me frustration if I let them. And, since I know this, I let many fewer things frustrate me. Kewl!

And grateful for leading an awesome MeetUp hike and for my ability to adjust to to the fact that one of the trails I planned on using was closed. Glad I can be flexible today and not freak out when plans have to change.

Love and hugs,
Eddie
