Class of March 2013 Part 6
Daisy, Panache and Toots..you said just what I needed to hear- that I'm not alone in this, and a reminder that it's never, ever worth it. Thank you. I will be around all night. I had to take my daughter to a friend's house and considered making a "stop" after, since I'd be alone. Thankfully, my older daughter, out of the blue, decided to take a ride with me- she saved me because I wouldn't stop unless I was alone. What a close one.
Now I'm not leaving the house. Why is it so hard at over 3 weeks...?? In my past attempts, I thought I was doing better than this at this point....

Morning guys.
Sometimes when I log in there are so many posts, I don't know what to post because I feel like I am butting in on a conversation that I'm not part of. Just being silly I know.
Great to see some newbies, welcome to this great group.
Mr Beagle, you may have slipped, but I think you will succeed in the long run you have a great attitude.
Well, I'm on day 6, feeling good, exercising a lot, no snow to contend with down here :0)
Have a great day everyone, I'm off to a netball coaching course, I coach my daughters team. Need some tips on keeping nearly teenagers in line, lol

Haha mrbeagle, those young legs of yours outran tired ol' chuff!
Forabetterlife I am so glad you didn't give in,we'll done! As for the cravings, with me last time, it was just the AV convincing me I didn't have a real problem.
Panache and mrb, my heart goes out to you both that you are dealing with this at such a relatively young age. On the plus side for you both, you have the chance to do something with your lives, rather than look back with regret at chances not taken because drink came first. Kids, the world is truly your mollusc.
Remember, as the great alien robot daddy-Dee says.....
All together now....TAKE DRINK OFF THE TABLE!!!

Toots "take drink off the table", this is Dee's quote? Is that the entire quote? And can you interpret it for me?
I LOVE IT! This board has so many brilliant affirmations, I find myself writing them all down for when I'm having a down day.

Sweetie you will need to ask Dee if there is more to it, but I doubt it. What it means is what it says. Take drink out of the equation, it is no longer an option to be considered. End of. Once you accept that it it is so liberating

Evening all, still sober and still positive.
Beagle just read your post from thread part 5, I'm 30 and have drank heavily since being 18, same as Panache I wish I knew or had the foresight to stop back then.
AA was really random for me at first, just thought a load of people got together and moaned at each other!
It gets better, you start to realise that just listening helps if you want to share then go for it.
This site has been a godsend for me as I can only get to a limited amount of meetings, it's like having your sponsor in your pocket!!!
Stay at it my friend, I have been through more than a few bouts with alcohol each time thinking I was ok and that I could control it.
It is not the end of the world if this happens, just try and remember why you want to be sober, what life is when you are not. This helps me stop picking up the first drink.
Always here for you
Dan
