Addicted to Norco?
Hello...I am a 19 year old female. I started taking pills when I was around 14. At first nothing serious. Just here and there because I liked the feeling. I did OD once, I was in a dark place in my life and received professional help. For maybe a year I was off pills but when I was around 16 I picked back up again, used for a few months, and then stopped for another year or so. In the last year and a half I have been using very heavily. I have a low tolerance even after all these years and it only takes one norco for me to get the feeling I like, but at a cost. I steal it from family members. I take around 4-5 pills a day. If I go more than a day without them I break out in sweats and get massive headaches accompanied by vomiting and an awful mood. And the worst part is as bad as they are for me, I don't want to stop. I mean, in a way I do, but at the same time I just love them so much. Does anyone have any advice for me?
Yes, definitely! You are not alone. I know I was an addict/alcoholic in my teens, and I wish I had found recovery then. Addiction is progressive, demoralizing, terribly painful and frequently deadly.
I highly suggest getting to a meeting today and to keep going back for the solution:
Narcotics Anonymous, Find A Meeting: Home
Life doesn't have to be so hard! Dreams, freedom and the life you were born to lead are all within your reach if you're willing to go to any lengths for your recovery.
Sending much love and encouragement to you on your journey.

Welcome....
Those symtoms you mentioned? When they happened to me..I was
in withdrawals and did not realize it at the time... me.
I see red flags in your post..stealing drugs...yoour past history
and the fact you know they are bad for you...yet you continue
To me...that is addiction
Hope you will soon give up drugs..it's difficult to live in a haze.

I never did any kind of treatment until now or use as long as you did, but I did use heavier amounts than what you described and can relate to what you mean. I was snorting 20 to 25 norcs per day for the last year. I enjoyed the act of taking them as much as the high. A lot of people tried to tell me to get clean including my wife, but it made me use more. Get clean on your terms. 4-5 a day is enough to fell withdrawal symptoms, but manageable if you had to force it.
However, I can tell you from personal experience that I started at 2 a day then went to 3 and then all of a sudden I was up to 7 a day for about a year. I never made it to 10 as I bypassed even 15 and had to use 25 a day to get that same feeling I had with 3. I would take 6 at a time. Hope you want to get clean soon.

Haylea with one old posting and now you theeandy with your first post. Welcome. Let's hope you both have had enough of addiction. Freedom is not free and it takes considerable commitment but it is possible. Good luck to you if you really want to be free.
