Spasms in upper back and arms

Can anyone tell me if severe spasms in upper back around shoulder blades and upper arms are signs of withdrawal? Went tomER but they think he just wants pills. He may want pills, but that isn't fake pain. Up most of nit, can't raise hand to mouth to drink a soft drink. I would like to knowing this is typical withdrawal or something else. Dr. Did cat scan blood work and urine test. Meth showed up.

I don't know whether to go to him and try to get hi, back to ER or what. He refuses drug treatment, has been sleeping anywhere cause some told him there were cops looking for him with a search warrant so he won't go back to his camper. May have been foolish, but I put him in extended stay for one week to give opportunity to rest and heal.

Any experience or ideas about the spasms. He called this morning and said couldn't live like this. Despondent. I know ER would hold him for 72 hours if I told them heis a threat to self, then what? He's refusing to go back to ER cause they didn't help him. He is an addict, I know, but pain is real.

Withdrawal from what substance? I know alcohol withdrawal can cause muscle spasms.

Alcohol amount at ER was 0%. Suspect meth, crack, or pain pills.
I just don't know whether to try to go help him if it's something else, let him suffer if it is withdrawal, or stay away from him either. He was paranoid when I was there two days ago. Thought I was trying to help yep the cops have him committed (I did call police a few months ago, so he doesn't trust me now). He was imagining people all over we're talking about him and accusing him of things. None of this was true.

I don't know...but warm baths and or showers might help.
I use an OTC product Icy Hot roll on after I shower..it eases the pain.

I'm not in withdrawal however...simply have pains and aches daily.

Hope the 2 of you find the peace of recovery ..
