One year!!

I'm 31 and one year sober as of May22. I was a druggie for 15 years and this is the first time I've gone more than a couple days. I actually got kinda choked up the other day.

CRAZY

Man when I joined I was in bad shape.

Yea it's crazy now because I've been in AA long enough to see newcomers hit milestones I've hit, see people drop out and go use, and see people that are where I once was. In the beginning I didn't think about stuff like that.

and thanks

Way to go John! I remember your early days and posts too, for some reason they hit home for me, so it's like "dang, a year!"

the days add up, and life adds up when we aren't busy killing ourselves, eh?

I am so glad you did this while you are still young. Many of us out here on SR are in our late 50s and rode the opiate roller coaster for several decades.
Congratulations on your year in recovery!
I went back and read your first few posts, as I too, remember you. I joined SR in Jan. 2011 and don't post as much lately but still read almost every day.
Take care and keep on the path
