I Can't Believe It

I had an opportunity to get some percocet today and I walked away from it. I don't even know how. Usually my impulse-to-action time is less than 1 second, but today I was just so present in my awareness that I had a chance to actually, you know, THINK first. There's no small amount of shame that "thinking first" seems like something new and exotic. It really underlines how bad I have allowed my addiction to become. Geez.

Blowing 17 days clean - the longest stretch in many years - just didn't seem like something I could do.

Thanks for letting me share this small victory with all of you. I know this is a place where people really understand what I'm talking about!

Awesome! It's almost 5a and I can't fall back to sleep, but this totally made me smile. I think right around Day 17 is where I started thinking less of the number of days until a month came - and it flew by! I hardly think of it now and my days are way more productive. Keep sticking to it, super smart move.

Itsn't it crazy that something that should be easy can be amazily hard for us? Great job. You're well on the your way down the road to TRUE happiness. Way to go and keep it up! And remember many 'small victories' will win you the war.
