I have been clean for 5 days...just lost my job and trying to clear my mind from the ills of using crack cocaine......ive been around Narcotics Anonymous and recovery for almost 20 yrs now....i dont wanna give up but i feel hopeless most days....

Good job on 5 days.

I too know the hopelessness of losing a job, my career. Drinking or using will mot get your job or anything back but more despair. Keep moving forward and it will get better. It isn't hopeless just frustrating right now.

5 days clean is not a sign of hopelessness. It shows strength and will power. Another job will come and you will be ready to move forward. Read and post and know that it will get better. I'm living proof. 4 months for me and everyday I am amazed at all of life that I've missed out on. Oh yeah, there are moments but I keep my tools handy to fight off the demons that pills put in my life.
