About getting benzos to aid in heroin detox
I have read many times to go and ask a doctor for xanax, ativan, or another benzo to aid in heroin detox. Is it just my doctor... or... If I were to tell him I am an addict he would never prescribe me anything addictive. I am curious if others have actually gone and asked their doctor for the medication for this reason?

i'm not one who shares that opinion.
there are alternatives to benzos that are not addictive. have you looked into a detox program, or inpatient treatment?
if money or insurance is an issue, there are detox programs that can be quite comfortable and safe that are state sponsored.
i don't like seeing people trade one addictive substance for another, even in the short term.
