Brain Scans to Track Progress
Hey, I was hoping somebody on here may be able to help me find something online. My friend stayed in a rehab center and was given a presentation showing brain scans after various increments of sobriety, 3 months, 6 months, etc. The brain scans illustrated the rate brain activity increases when abstaining from drugs/alcohol. It's easy to find brain scans online showing before and after substance abuse, but difficult to find scans before and after sobriety. Does anyone know a good spot to look these up? Thanks, I love you.

Hi.
Try this article:
Brain Volumes, RBC Status, and Hepatic Function in Alcoholics After 1 and 4 Weeks of Sobriety: Predictors of Outcome -- Pfefferbaum et al. 161 (7): 1190 -- Am J Psychiatry
When you Google, if you want to get medical journal articles, try Google Scholar.
There are other resources, too, but that is a quick and dirty one.
