What should I do?
What should I do?
So I'm on day 18 clean. I'm looking through my medicine cabinet for vitamins and anything that would help me with energy. I find a bottle of TRAMADOL ER with 30 pills. I went online to see what they were because these were given to me a few years ago and I couldn't remember what they were for. The only word that stood out right away was "opiate" on wikipedia.
My question is this. Should I leave these pills in my cabinet because I need to be able to say NO whenever I see an opiate type of pill? Or should I dump them because I will likely find a reason/excuse to use them? I'm really proud of myself for not wanting any. What do you think?

Somebody with opiate addiction issues shouldn't have opiates in their medicine cabinet. Tramadol has opiate properties even though the FDA hasn't classified it as a Schedule drug -- yet. Good for you for checking, and congratulations on your clean time!
Dump them because why would you even want to tempt yourself? I mean your home is your safe haven...there are enough tempations out "there" that you don't even need to test or prove anything. I only have 6 months but I wouldn't even go there. Lately my drug of choice is sugar so I have my husband and son go downstairs to the basement w/ their ice cream bowls cuz i don't even want it in my kitchen. lol
I am really proud of you too!!!! Good question!

DUMPED!!
I have no sponsors, no meetings, no programs. I have come to SR for all my detox and post detox/ recovery needs, and so far you guys have been right. TY, I wouldn't have been able to do this without u guys.
Ps. It wasn't easy to dump, it took me a few minutes, my addict self kept saying "what if I have an emergency?"...LOL
