Anyone on vivitrol?
Im a opiate addict and i have 8 days clean. Tomorrow I am going to the dr to get a shot of vivitrol which blocks all opiates for 30 days. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this route

I don't have any experience with it, but I know it has been on the market since late last year. It is injectible Naltrexone, which I think was originally used for alcohol abuse. It is not the same as the old "antabuse".
Your doctor should give you a patient printout that comes with the drug, which the manufacturer supplies with each dose. Or you can read about it on the internet.
The main warning I know about is that after going off the medication, you are at increased risk of opiate overdose if you go on and use again. This is serious enough to where the manufacturer suggests carrying a medical card or wearing a medical bracelet so no one gives you opiates after an accident, for example.
