What I don't have to quit
In an effort to stay positive I have been thinking of all the wonderful things I love that I don't have to quit...
Things like:
coffee
olives and olive oil
cheese
sourdough bread
blue berries
popsicles
vinyl records
playing with my slingshot
baking
sex
gardening
carving pumpkins
learning new things
I am grateful for this.

Wow! I love that list. Especially vinyl records. You know that sometimes when I was drinking I spilled wine or beer on a record sleeve or sometimes handled the vinyl in a clumsy way so that I scratched it. I don't do that when I am sober.
Have you seen the new Bon Iver album on vinyl? A beautiful looking thing with a gatefold sleeve and a 12 inch print that you can frame. Quite expensive. But probably only the same price as "decent" bottle of wine. And if you tot up the cost of breaking a wine glass, eating some rubbish and possibly then heading out to the store for another can or two or beer, you could say the record is a bargain.
What are your favourite vinyl records?
