Five months clean today!
Hi.
Just had to toot my own horn.
Gotta tell ya. Month one sucked. Month two also sucked. Month three, hey! Month four, wow I can do stuff. Month five -- Lord in heaven, maybe I'll actually feel NORMAL again.
Rode my mountain bike yesterday down to the Marina and around town. Specks of sunshine and rain. Wind in my face.

Yes, a mountain bike. There are trails near where I live, and on sunny days it is FABULOUS to pack a picnic and just LEAVE for hours. I NEVER could have done this on opiates. I did it a few times last year on oxys, but I depended on having my dose or I would burn out. I don't need them anymore. They are such a LIE, a FAKE energy boost that is unsustainable.

What a beautiful thread!! Congratulations on 5 months! I'm so proud of you. What a true inspiration. Recovery is a great thing. It's wonderful to see you're enjoying life and it makes me feel hopeful that we can start to feel better.

Congrats on your 5 months, you should be proud. Thank you for sharing, it is truly an inspiration. I'm so glad you are beginning to enjoy life again without the OX (or any other opiate!). I agree with opm, thank you for everything you post around SR. I think you are simply fantastic and hold wisdom that I hope I have one day.

FT - you have been a lifeline to me and many others since joining SR. Your consistent feedback and honest stories have helped us all. As I have mentioned before, we are almost on the same recovery track and of the same age group . . and, 19th of May will officially be 5 months clean for me, too, off opiates. I read more than I post, but come to SR almost every day for inspiration.
