Today is 1 week, I am a new person :)

A week ago I decided to kick opiates to the curb, with the help of all you loving and supportive people of this forum, the help of my children and my loving husband I reached my 1 week mark and I am more proud of myself than I have been in my entire life.
If you are here to quit I am telling you, if you put your heart to it and just think of the grass being greener on the other side ( because trust me it is!!!!!) You will get there, I love being able to wake up and not depend on a tiny pill to get through my day!!!! I know I lengthened my life expentacy which makes me so happy to be able to be there for my kids when they have kids. I love life.
I am so high on life right now and I will NEVER need another pill to take that from me again.

Congrats Prellas on your first week - your attitude sounds great, I wish I could have that right now as I am really struggling, fighting demons in my head as usual. May your days continue to be good to you, it can only get better from here on out, right? It's great that you have such a supportive family, it's not something quite a few of us have, so cherish that and hold it close! Take care

I'm on day 12 and feeling pretty new.... theres been a couple times where I thought would it just be easier to go back.... had 2 rough days at work and thats where I used to most to get through a **** job.....
I'm thinking about changing jobs so I dont think about it when I am there.
Went out with my kids today and had a bit of fun to keep my mind off stuff, never thought id be able to go to an amusement park for a whole day without being on drugs and still have fun.
I love this new me.

8 days Today

I think this site and sobriety rocks. Recovery is not a walk in the park, as you only get out of it what you put into it. It is so hard to get through the first few days of W/Ds. Your mind love to lie to you, and just keeps going back to the pills for the ultimate relief and then i'll quit tomorrow. It sucks but time does go by, and the reward of not having to chase oxys 24/7 and actually feeling how you really feel as a human being is so awesome. As I am getting some flashes of my old self here and there, as at times during the day I will get a pure natural adrenaline rush for like 10 seconds (does anybody else get those?). This site has been a key component to me being oxycodone free for 8 days.

P.S. I so thankful the world didn't end yesterday and there was an 8th day oxycodone free for me.

Thank You All

Hey Pillchaser!

Eight days and counting! (but NOT oxys-- ha!) I am also glad the world didn't end yesterday. I can still remember guys like that 89 year old prophesizer carrying signs back in the 50's. There have always been and always will be doomsday-sayers. The way I figure it, we're all gonna leave together anyway if the world blows up, so why worry about it.

Keep on truckin' dudes. Your success stories are awesome!
