Tramua inpatient
AH counselor recommended AH go from rehab to an inpatient trauma place to deal with his childhood abuse and mental health issues, saying if he doesn't he is at a high risk for relapse. There is Mclean in Mass. that does trauma/DID work but everything else is either outpatient or a very short stay or extremely far away.
Does this seem like a stretch to go right from rehab to this - which I imagine would be very stressful to deal with for him. Is it even appropriate to try to deal with these things at this time?
Does insurance usually cover this type of thing?

I don't think it's a stretch at all, because untreated underlying issues have a way of coming back to bite someone in the butt. His counselor's recommendation of something that intense, is a strong indicator he's high risk for relapse without further specialized treatment.
Is he willing? That's always the key to everything, then of course the financial stuff. The only way to find out about the insurance is for one of you to call.
