Fast Talker who can't wait to speak
Dealing with someone doing stuff like steroids, sports supplements, alcohol and 'occasional recreational' drug use.
He goes through these periods out of the blue where he talks fast, real fast and most times to nit pick you or someone else. It's like he's agitated- just can't wait to speak. I'm not the fastest person out but I'm not that slow either. It's like he's in a race to make point or simply to talk as much as possible.
Other times he sounds depressed, talks real slow or doesn't want to talk/has nothing to say.
Is the fast talking drugs, a form of anger or just a mood?

I was thinking a little ADD myself although the fast talking really didn't start until middle age in his late 30s. Sometimes I think he's trying to make sure he not only gets a word in but his will be the dominant opinion in a conversation.
He never had the patience for detail. He still doesn't have the time for detail and wants a quick reply from you during a conversation. And if a problem, issue or question doesn't have a quick or simple cookie cutter answer not only will he lie to make it seem he is
right but gets frustrated/angry when trying to solve his own problems. He has no time for a process including filling out job applications even though unemployed-says they're too time consuming(almost 2 years later and I don't think he has filled out over 2 dozen applications).
