Mommy Dearest
Hi there, I'm an adult child of a substance abuser. I wrote this prose/poem last year and thought I'd share it here. As a disclaimer I've been told before that it's brought people to tears.

It's the last part that is (for me) unrealistic. At least the earthly part. ( I love the angels!! Thank God for them)
If it were my mom, she'd be crying not because of her love for me but because she didn't have someone to criticize any more.
Your poem should be published. Make sure you get a copyright.
Hi there FaultyWiring, and welcome to SoberRecovery
Truly a beautiful poem, and it only brings tears to those of us who understand the pain. Have you read the "sticky" posts at the top of this forum? There's a lot of useful information there. Take a little time to browse around all the posts here so you can get to know us a little better, and feel free to toss out any questions you might have. This whole recovery thing can be a little convulted at times, and we have our own "lingo" that isn't always clear.
I'm glad you decided to join us.
