I was....
I was 3 days out of a treatment center, left my nieces wedding abit early because i felt strange with all the alcohol around and was wanting to spend time with my wife (we were out of town at a hotel) but she went shopping. So i was having a pity party with myself and was surfing on the computer when i found this site. I ended up talking to a guy whom was a geologist and we talked about our addictions . I have to say it really got me over that hump i was on.

One drunk talking to another. . . . . .
I seem to recall that in the history of AA, one of the co-founders , after having had a ,'spiritual experience' spent a year on his own attempting to get other people sober without success! Eventually he was in despair when his wife, Lois pointed out a very obvious fact, that he himself had remained sober through the simple expedient of,'one drunk talking to another'. Now although AA dates its formation to June, 10th 1935, in truth it was really Lois Wilson who started it.
You were seeking out and trying that which had been done many years ago, and it worked, which is excellent! You deserve a round of applause.
