Truthfully, everyone around can want this change for you but until you do it will not happen. Hopefully this forum can provide the push you need to get on board the SR train! Its not going to be an easy decision or journey, but in the end it will be one worth making. Best wishes for your future success!

I watch intervention and celebrity rehab. It reminded me of all the pain I caused and of what a struggle it can be to stay sober.

I had to stop when the discussion kept turning to relapse. It is not that they potrayed it as acceptable as much as they acted as if it were inevitable. I cannot beleive that if I am to remain sober.

I love that show but agree, it seems to portray that relapse is inevitable. Well, guess what, its NOT!

They have a few that don't relapse and some of the ones that do relapse pick themselves and carry on. The show is helpful for me. They have shown ones that die, I need to have that stark reality shown to me every now and then.

That show really held a mirror up to me before I decided to get clean & sober.

I would watch that show, cry my eyes out desperately wanting that victory over drugs & alcohol, and wonder silently if I had the strength to change my own life, because I knew in my heart of hearts that no intervention was coming my way, no cavalry was riding in to save the day. If I was to be saved, it would have to be me doing the saving.

And that's what's happened...

But in a very real way, it started with Intervention.
