I think you misunderstand the 12 step program. It is not about having to say I am sorry all the time, it is about changing the behaviors that would cause one to have to say I am sorry.
Change is good... and not a bad thing.... it is a road to a better life other than the one we thought was good....
One step at a time and you will feel like a new person........

You should be proud of how far you've come. Remember, recovery is a journey and you are still moving forward. I am not an AA person, but I don't believe the program would have you keep saying you're sorry. Recovery programs are about living life in a healthy way. As addicts, we usually do things we are sorry for and it's good to acknowledge that, but then move on. And, I have learned that having expectations of others in any way, is usually asking for trouble.
