Second Step Prayer
I pray for an open mind
so I may come to believe
in a Power greater than myself.
I pray for humility
and the continued opportunity
to increase my faith.
I don't want to be crazy any more.

step two...
now if THAT isn't a testament to the power of the fourth chapter of the Big Book, I'm not sure what is.
My spiritual prejudices ran deep. I won't get into them, but they were many and deep seeded. With the help of my sponsor, who never once claimed to know what I believed in (but also never once judged me for it), I was able to identify those prejudices and begin to openly, honestly and willingly deal with them... I am so grateful that Bill Wilson couldn't accept some of the ideas of the Oxford Movement. He wanted people like me to recover too, and when life became impossible, and I had to face the proposition that either God is, or he isnt, I was able to lay aside my prejudices and say without a doubt:
GOD IS!!!!
I think if you read enough of the 2nd step posts here - prayer is certainly helpful...but it's really more a feeling than an action. When I was at step 2 and into 3 ~ I really had a sense that this "god" thing just might work.

Hi I am currently In aa But I was addicted to drugs. I have been accepted and I am a member of my local aa group. I have the best sponsor in the world I think, we have been life long friends. I was wondering if I can hang out and post in this side of the forum. I know aa is different from na but i believe addiction is addiction weather it be a pill or in liquid form. Thanks for your time.

Darling NandM, I love you, I miss you....you wouldn't know it but you are a part of me every day!
And I just had a wonderful long distance conference call...3 hours...with family and mate, much of which and nearly all the importance had to do with our keen interest and sharing of our spiritual journeys, each of us on a unique path paradoxically all aimed the same!
much love to you and many hugs!
