Lexapro and weight gain

To all who are on Lexapro Have you had a weight gain and how much?

Ive been eating better and gained weight over the last 3 months, but Ive now gained 15 pounds (I never gain an ounce) and I was wondering if most of that was due to Lexapro and if it was ever going to stop. I exercise and cut out the junk and Im still gaining 1 to 3 ounds a week

Hmmm

I went for a 6 week follow up and complained to my doctor about an increased appetite and sluggishness. (I feel GREAT otherwise) She wants to monitor me for another 4 weeks to see if my symptoms change... So far they havent...

So - I'm not grossly overweight but I have been on weight watchers since the end of April (before starting Lexapro) and I had been losing then - I just couldn't stop eating... Not that I've ever been a compulsive over eater, I would actually consider myself an emotional eater... So... Back to WW this past Monday to find I gained almost 6lbs in 2 weeks... I had lost almost 14 lbs up until then.

So, maybe our sitations are similar - weight gain - but not the same - I have an increased appetite and you don't...

Have you contacted your doctor? You said you cut out the junk but, are you eating more than you usually would?? Even if it's "good stuff"?

I suffered from poor eating ahbits before and I needed to gain some weight. Its just scarey ebcause now Im where I need to be but still gaining strong. A week ago the doctor said it was good to gain, Im getting past my eating disorder whihc was triggered by anxiety. She thought it would level off. I hope it does

Cinderalla...I, too was underweight. The Lexapro has me at an all time high wieght wise but I am not overweight. To me it is a small trade off for the living hell of depression. And I am learning to eat healthier...more for better energy and sleep than for weight reasons.
