The Glue

The glue that kept us together and mended our hurts has taken some time
off. (MG) Those of us that have been around awhile have learned much from her. I can only speak for myself so, I've been lax about posting here on PTSD. There are still those looking for help. I plan on being better at passing along encouragement and knowledge. Would you consider joining me and making this board more active and receptive. This is how to say thanks to MG. The word "Thanks" without action rings hollow. Hope I'm not out of line.

(((Don))))
I can help, I want to. I miss MG soooooo very very much. I may not be able to help much with first hand experience with PTSD, but I can sure offer encouragement, and, I don't think you are out of line in any way.
I have some although not horrific experience with PTSD--numerous surgeries that have me so afraid I came close to running out of the prep room, IV and all, to avoid the last surgery I had. In college, I was sexually abused. I am no stranger to PTSD but my experience pales compared to others.
I am here to help, and offer anything I can to make someone feel better.
Thanks, Don.

Thanks Wolfstarr, Like you just made me feel better. Anything offered in good faith is a help. We only need to listen and let others know we're listening. Your feelings about surgery are normal. My first suggestion is to not devalue your experence and contribution. Using others for a barometer for how we should feel is wrong. Sexually abuse is sexual abuse no mater the circumstances. We can identify ourselves as a victim but, we shouldn't live as a victim. We can and need to recover and show others the way. Don W
