Thanks Morning Glory, I need to make an appointment with doctor, for results and possible medication adjustment. There is no good reason for not having done this. Thanks for the push. I got it in my head that if something was bad they'd call me. Being in the medical field I know better. He might not have recieved it. I'm sure also he hasn't been waiting at the Fax Machine for Don's test results. I still put myself at the bottom of the priority list. Veterans day is Thusday, so Friday I'll call for the appointment. I promise. Don W

Is Veterans Day a trigger for you Don. I can't believe it's already the 11th tomorrow. I think I'll go to the cemetery and visit my father's grave. He was a vet and they have all the flags up and it's usually beautiful. I haven't been to the cemetery since he was buried. I've never seen his head stone. He had the flag draped over his casket and got a letter signed by the president that was given to my mother at the funeral. I was so proud of him that I couldn't help, but stand when they carried the casket out. I think I would have saluted if it didn't make me look like a nut. I also recognize the life long pain and anxiety that he suffered because of his experience in the war. I recognize that with you too Don and appreciate your sacrifice and realize that the battle didn't stop when the troops came home. I truely appreciate all of our Veterans. Hugs |

Yes, it can be a trigger. However, I stay out of the places that have the amunition. I used to march and go back to the clubs and drink. I now have learned there are better ways to help and honor them. I collect used paperback and magazines and every week bring them to the VA Hospital, I also, spread the word about the needs of the Veterans. The VA is not allowed to ask for donations. However, if one was to contact their local VA Hospital's Volunteer Services they have a list. Many go without personal care items and like I said lack reading materials. Many have no family or have no contact, and suppies run out. New socks, underware, etc are always needed. Many people are under the false impression that the government supplies these items. Don W

Morning Glory, I have an appointment on Wed. with my doctor. In the morning I'll be meeting with the dentist that is going to help me. I thought the appointment was on Thursday. This was good, cause it cut down on the worry time. Don W

Don, my church is doing a 40 days of community project right now! i am going to suggest the VA hospital! we always think of the missions and nursing homes and salvation army, but it has never once crossed my mind to check on the VA hospital in town. and, i don't ever remember someone saying we're having a coat drive for the VA. Glad you mentioned it! PS - Regarding your message to me earlier, I know you are not a doctor, but you sure are wise! How does this sound "DonW MD"?!?!? Hope your having a good evening!

Sidney, I'm so happy to see your post. I've still got to wait for my doctor's Appointment. The other day, I worked a double shift at Childrens Hospital. I got home at 6 am and had to postpone the appointment. I would have had to go right there and then back to work for 3pm. If, I was making radios or TVs I could work tired like that but, not with patients. Although I don't like to admit it, I'm not as young as I used to be. What I've been doing is taking my blood pressure medicene and taking it easy, the test showed increase in pressure after heavy activity. Plus, I've lost about 10 pounds. That is great Wraybear. I'm bringing 2 big bags of paperbacks and some cans of coffee Friday morning. Don W
