St. John's Wort for anxiety?

I recently picked up St. John's Wort...I don't have depression, but I used to take anti-depressants (Zoloft) for anxiety related to my eating disorder. Since I wasn't on the anti-depressants for depression, but anxiety, I thought maybe St. John's Wort might have a similar effect. Has anyone tried this herb for anxiety? FYI- I refuse to be "medicated", so a natural thing is more appealing to me to use/take.

Yes I use St. John's Wort, 300mg pill size. This works well for me, and I recommend you give it a try. I use it for feelings of anxiety, anxiousness, and mild depression.

Glad it has helped some - it never worked for me.

If you do take it, be sure to wear subscreen as it makes you photosensitive to the sun.

Good luck.

I heard vitamin B helps for some people, although I didn't see a noticeable impact. Meditation has helped me a great deal and its a good safe option.

Greetings! I have tried St. Johns Wort and it was somewhat effective, but I found tryptophan to be the best. That and kava (especially for anxiety). 5-htp helped me too, but you cant take that along with the others.
