Are you having a panic attack now?

Talk to your doctor. There are meds that can help relieve the physical symptoms of anxiety. I used to have frequent heart palpitations (premature beats)...now it is a rare event that I'm on meds for it (and high blood pressure. One pill for two problems!). My mental anxiety has calmed down because I'm not nearly as worried about the physical symptoms. If you haven't done so alreay, talk to your doctor to make sure it is anxiety and not something else.

Yes--all the time until I started on medication (lexapro) + intensive work with a therapist.

P.S. I also found yoga + relaxation helpful.

I get similar physical symptoms after dealing with youngest kid - my anxiety manifests itself in headaches, muscle aches, and genererally feeling like crap... and mostly after dealing with this kid!!

I'm stuck in an ongoing anxiety attack. Feel like my heart is racing and can't relax or sit still. Can't concentrate on anything. These physical symptoms of anxiety really drive me nuts, as I can't stand always feeling 'on edge' like this. I'm on buspar for anxiety, and it mostly helps, but times like this I'd give anything for an ativan to calm the physical signs of anxiety.

I also get a feeling of being physically sick, with sweating or freezing and dizziness. I'd love to just sleep it away but too anxious to sleep...

My Physical Symptoms of a Panic Attack
-Numbness in hands and arms
-Shaking
-Tightness in my stomach
-Fast Heartbeat, or really strong heart beat
-Lightheaded
-Nausea - I feel like I want to vomit
-Faintish feeling
-My vision goes in and out

I've had complete bloodwork, tests, bla bla bla... and it is all anxiety, but it never feels like it.

I have been suffering panic attacks for a few years now, sometimes are more under control than others. Usually my breathing becomes very slow and deep, which makes me feel light headed and I start to sweat - if I can't talk myself down at this point then my throat closes and I can't breathe at all. Then either I pass out, or when my body does start breathing, I begin shaking and crying uncontrollably. It takes anywhere from 15 minutes to 3+ hours to calm down, depending on whether or not I can remove myself from the situation/trigger. Then I'm in for chest pains and diarreah for the next 2-3 days.

At my worst a few years ago I developed severe allergies (hives, wheezing, or body part swelling, depending on the exposure) that resulted in several hospitalizations. But all allergy tests came back negative!!! With my anxiety relatively under control the allergies have magically disappeared.

My panic attacks manifest themselves in rapid heart beat, more than any other symptom. I wish there was a good medication for this.
