OCD rears it's head again. I have trouble with obsessive thoughts. It's been a loooooong stressful year- everyone knows stress can affect this kind of thing. I have been meditating a bit but I've only just started and there's really only so far I can get with that. A few drinks would alleviate this current head game- I have not indulged but this is really quite unpleasant. I can't go back on benzos for anxiety again because quitting those was really awful. I am free of all meds and have not had a drink in nearly three months... I just want some peace.

Sorry to hear things are so stressful right now. I can relate for sure. I just meet with a friend and talked, that was great. Is that an option for you? She also suggested getting out and being around people to 'get out of your head', to see that there is other stuff going on in the world. I know that might not be the easiest thoing to do, I know I have some serious social anxiety. I have benzos but dont take them more than 2 days in a row or else it will just be my new 'drink'. Any desire for some exercise? Glad you havent drank. I have once since I quit, I only had 4 sips and stopped, but I drank. Im not saying I recommend it though. Is there some positive/healthy way to distract yourself? |

You're both right, I should start exercising again- I began a few weeks ago but got discouraged and quit when I gained 5 pounds somehow. I will try to get out, social anxiety is a factor for sure.. Summer seems to excaerbate this too. I should probably diet too.

You should try the valerian tea and extra water intake, but also eat lots of food rich in omega 3, complex carbs (potato) and take a multivitamin (or particuarly b6) | |
