Hi everyone, I am taking a flight tomorrow, I have not flown in 11 years due to my panic attaks. I am a bit nervous, but I am not obessing over it. I do have medication to help me. I just wanted to share this info, This is a major step for me. My cousin is flying my mom and I down to Texas for some pampering plus his daugther is graduating high school, I am so excited, I have never gone anywhere without hubby or son, first time trip fdor mom and me on our own. Wish me luck, say a little prayer tomorrow morning that we can have a smooth flight. Thanks, sisofD |

Hi sis, sounds like fun and I hope you and your mom have some special time together, I'll keep you both in my prayers. Other than the medication, do you have any other plans in the event of a panic attack? How about a book to focus on, music, or a mantra? I get really nervous during the take-off and landing so I always try to keep my nose stuck in a book and do my best to not pay attention to what's going on around me. Best of luck to you, I'm sure you'll have a safe trip!

I'm NOT giving medical advice, but I can relate an experience of a person I know who had a similar fear. They would take 1 mg of xanax after clearing security, and would be asleep by the time they were buckled in. The landing would be a nice nudge to wake them. Trip over!
