| Butterfly, Try to have a good night's sleep before going to work. Also, be sure to have a good breakfast; protein, fruit, and go easy on the caffeine. You don't need to be over stimulated. Have only one cup if needed. You can have another at break time if needed. Be sure to carry a small snack, to keep your sugar levels stable too. Also, have water available at all times to remain hydrated. The minute we become thirsty, we have already started to become dehydrated. You may wonder why I'm talking about all this nutrition stuff when you're talking about anxiety. Well, nutrition does alot to keep us stabalized. And so does being well rested. Remember our acronym HALT -- Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. Those triggers can set us off when we think it's other things. So, a customer, (or a co worker or boss), can do something one day, and it doesn't phase us. The next day, they do the exact same thing, and we blow our tops! Why? Cuz, one of these areas are off kilter. So, if you start feeling triggered, think HALT. Am I hungry, angry, lonely or tired? If so, recognize what it is and deal with that thing, rather than going off on the person. The sooner we recognize our triggers, (and it does get easier as we practice it), the easier it is to deal with the emotions that come with the situation. Good luck with the job! ![]() Let us know how it's going, ok? Shalom! |
