Just need to vent a bit...

I went the whole day (Almost...) without meds. I planned on taking my usual 3pm dose but found that by 6pm I had forgotten. But I was completely OK. I decided to just wait a few more hours until bed time. BUT, then I remembered I had quite a bit of work to do tonight (Fun stuff, photo stuff) and wouldn't be sleeping until probably 3pm. SO, at 9pm I took a small dose...but right after I started to feel anxious. I didn't feel anxious before...just after. Like my meds are playing tricks on me. Maybe I should've just taken the 3pm dose. I'm calming down a bit I think...I'm just a bit upset that this is happening. This is one reason why I think I'm not addicted (Although I could be wrong) because I actually don't like taking my meds.

Probably no help at all but my doc just prescribed me paroxetine (paxil) and he said to make sure I took it at the same time every day as if I didn't it would mess with the levels of serotonin in my brain, as apparently it only lives in your system for a day so you need to keep it topped up or its just like withdrawing from it - eg sweats tremors over amxiety etc etc

I'm no expert and ceratinly no doc but thats just what he told me so thought I'd share it with you......

Hope you feel better now

Oh, I take my Paxil on time everyday. It's the benzos that are kind of hit and miss.

DaVinci - maybe the Paxil's effects are kicking in and you don't need the benzos. Personally, I don't understand why you take them when you don't feel anxious - I only use mine when I have an anxiety attack. Perhaps your doctor can change your dosing to prn instead of regular dosing.

I've been on the Paxil almost 2 months now.

Before, I tried taking the benzo just when I felt anxious. Sometimes I mustard the power to push through and not take any. My doc told me that I shouldn't do that. Take them when you feel anxious. So that's what I did. I seemed to follow a pattern where around mid-afternoon I would start feeling anxious. That's when I took my meds. When I skipped them because I didn't feel I needed them, I would have trouble sleeping that night or feel sick later that day. I thought maybe that had something to do with my body actually needing it, or something else I'm not aware of. I started taking them at 3pm everyday (Smaller dose) and that was working. Today I took it much later in the day, and felt like crap. I'm not sure why. I'm gonna talk with my doctor about it, but I'm not sure he will know for sure. I'm wondering if I should just take them in the evening when I need them. Maybe that's what I will try tomorrow unless I get anxiety attacks in the afternoon.
