Question Going off Zoloft, now on Effectzor.

Anyone on effectzor by any chance? *I think I'm spelling it wrong, but it's an anti depressant* since I have my panic disorder/attacks, mind blurriness, headaches and depression.

Post Dear Paulos....I am now going off Zoloft...

Hi Paulos,
my name is Simon from Australia & I am in the process of being weaned off Zoloft...My doctor told me to take about 25 mgs of Zoloft for four days then go off Zoloft, cold turkey for 48 hrs and after that period begin taking Effexor XR....
Did you mean Effexor XR?
What kind of illness do you suffer from, if you don't mind me asking?
I have been on about 50 mgs of Zoloft for about 5 yrs for a diagnosis of Mild Paranoid Psychosis & Depression, but I wasn't aware that during that time I was having an allergic reaction to Zoloft, in the form of mania or hypo-mania.
I believe I was misdiagnosed & that I simply suffer from acute anxiety which, in turn, causes depression...I began to have severe panic attacks after 5 yrs of my treatment, & since Sunday evening....Straight away, I was alarmed, as Zoloft is supposed to stop panic attacks....

Did your doctor tell you to drink plenty of water as you go off Zoloft cold turkey? The water will flush the Zoloft out of your system....

I am also taking 400 mgs of Solian, which is an anti-psychotic used to treat my paranoid psychosis...

Maybe we could support each other at this difficult time, Paulos?

I will pray for you & give you feedback on how Effexor XR is affecting me both physically & mentally, & I pray that we have both found the right medication to treat our conditions....Apparently, from what I have read & my Psychiatrist told me, Effexor XR is a very good drug....

Yours Sincerely,

Simon

Hi Paulos,

How are you going with the transition period between Zoloft & Efexor XR?
How long did your doctor tell you to go cold turkey without Zoloft befor you go on Efexor XR, Paulos, if you don't mind me asking?
My Psychiatrist said that I only have to go off Zoloft for 48 hrs before going on Efexor XR.....Although that advice contradicts with what the drug companies say, I have to trust that my doctor knows what's best in my situation....
I've actually felt a little better since I've been weaning myself off Zoloft....

Yours Sincerely,

Simon
