| anyone help?
i am having a panic attack. it is not debilitating yet, but fast getting that way. the typing on the keyboard is too loud cause i need to hear whatever. i need to go lie frozen in my bed to watch the windows and listen for whatever. i realize they are irrational they are utterly terrifying. xanax has not helped is there anything that will keep this from escalating? my kids are still up and i can't scare them. i'm minutes away from having to "watch and listen" as i say. can anyone help? |

Hey..How ya' feelin'? Don't worry about anything that you have to get done, like the dishes..etc. I used to like getting under all my blankets. I'd put them over my head and pretend like I wasn't there...lol I know that sounds silly but, it worked for me. My 'safe place'. Try drinking some water, it helps to flush out the adrenaline... Take a vitamin too. Talk to your doctor about your taper..it might be too fast. They say a full blown panic attack won't last more than an hour..."They" don't know what they are talking about...lol Also, I repeat 'this too shall pass...this too shall pass..' A visualization that seems to help is of a big brick wall flying up between me and my worries with a resounding 'No!'. Keep typing if you need too! I hope you are feeling a little better this morning. Hang in there!! (don't forget the water, it works!) -Moni |

Symbyax, that is the combo of Prozac and Zyprexa... go to www.lilly.com and go under the neuroscience division, symbyax is located there.. I get the panic attacks, too, mikiglen...I try to focus on breathing and make sure I am not hyperventilating, which I ususally am....it does help me. I get these panic attacks at the most unaware moments...like talking on the phone while at work... Hope you are doing ok...thinking about you. |
