Thanks for all the real advice

Wish me luck, I'm going to start tomorrow with kicking this beast. It's too late tonight as I've already succumbed. I can't begin to say how pleasurable my month of sobriety was. It remains my goal. Thanks for all the support, I will need it in the coming days.

Short answer: The Dylan song.
Long(er) answer: I used to go to see a blues guitarist at a folk club every week and he had a version of Statesboro Blues, which I got him to teach me. Still the only decent thing I can play ten years later hahaha!

Yesterday was rough, I paid in spades for my mistake the night before. Slept like a baby last night though, didn't drink a thing. Can't wait to do it again tonight!

I'm ashamed to say I'm a loser. Failed again after giving my stomach a few days rest to recoup from an ulcer. I so enjoyed last night's sleep(sober)....felt like a million dollars when I woke up. My stomach gave me a break after abstaining (pain for a few days) and I was right back to it. I will try again....and again until I win. No excuses.....

No, I don't think you're a loser at all. If you're continuing to try, the race isn't over, right? Good for you for continuing to focus your eye on the prize. You know what you need to do. That's why you (and all of us) are here. Best to you.

Don't expect miracles or even anyone to believe in me....but I will try tomorrow. I really want this, I am so tired of a short lived high and an extended regret. When I don't drink my dreams are amazing....please let me have them every night

Sorry to hear your update- but I don't think you're a loser either.

Have you considered what kind of plan or program you will work to get and stay sober? Mine is AA and there are plenty of folks who can share their success with other programs. Dee has a good thread about recovery plans (I can't find it off the top of my head).

You can do it.

So I stopped back today to reread some of my posts and remind myself how bad it was. I am 1 year 2weeks sober as of today! It was the encouragement of everyone here that helped me get over the hump. I like to remind myself what it was like so I don't forget and become complacent. No more fifths of vodka every night for me thankfully. Thank you all!
