Aw shucks, I was hoping to see some more pics of real SR peeps, never mind, later maybe

It's a beautiful sunny morning and the front hedge is full of little white flowers, the sky is blue with wispy white clouds.

I'm on the sober bus

Hi Trachs and welcome to the bus.

Great photo Harriet. I think I still have one in a photo album.

On the bus, coffee in hand!

Safe riding all!

Trying so hard to stay on the bus. Hit 1 week sober today after over 3 years of not having a single day sober. Feeling great but all I can think about is drinking today and lying to myself saying I'll only have a few.

SBL, I think Day 9 was my hardest day.

Hang on.

Lay your head on the pillow sober tonight. "A" drink would never be enough, and the only way to get to a peaceful state of mind is to work through days like this UNTIL you get to a nicely healed body...it took me some months. I remember how difficult it was.

I listened to a lot of instrumental classical music on Pandora. It soothed me. So does the sound of birds or a river over rocks.

I watched comedies. I took walks, I went to the grocery, prepared nutritious meals for myself, cleaned up and then did that again in four hours.

Lots of chop wood, carry water. It's good for the soul.

SpankedByLife, stay with us. We will help you through. Bim made some great suggestions.

Stay sober today; waking sober and hangover-free tomorrow will be such a satisfying feeling of accomplishment. Waking sober and hangover-free is a great feeling that never grows old.

Work this week was so much easier with no alcohol in me at all even though its just the first week. Dog grooming can be crazy.

SBL, in a couple months you won't believe how good you feel. Keep it going.

Aaah, thanks SG, I do like a look at photo albums, haven't got around to making any myself. Very nice photo it is too

Hi Trachs, I'm guessing you're interested in turtles and not trachea's

SBL. I agree with Bim, especially about watching comedies, good for the soul. I believe in being kind to oneself too, so if you just want to chill out and rest, read a book maybe, then go for it. Always look after yourself - ha ha, because nobody else will ! Looking after yourself includes not drinking. It's taken me a long time to learn that, and I'm still working on it

I agree- in these terrible times, we all need to do stuff to keep on going- it is not escapism to watch comedies or turn the news off- it is a good thing to do so as not to get overwhelmed. Posting and reading stuff@ SR is always a good thing to do.
