O'Doul's is 0.5% alcohol (so is frozen orange juice). I can drink the stuff and not relapse but beer wasn't my drink of choice to begin with. I have seen people relapse on O'Douls. Drink two sick packs and you have as much alcohol as two beers.

As far as other beverages, I steer clear of "diet anything" and particularly if they contain caffeine. Both caffeine and aspartame (artificial sweetener) can lower your blood sugar signicantly. Your brain metabolizes alcohol like a sugar, so "low blood sugar" = "I need a drink".

Dr Bob

If you are drinking this stuff you have relapsed. If frozen orange juice has alcohol in it, then the same goes for that as well.

what's up with my OJ?

you've GOT to be kidding about the frozen oj, right? I'm sorry, it's late...I'm confused...was this a metaphor, or were you saying it actually does have alcahol in it?

Hi. I'm RudiD, alcoholic. But for the grace of God and a benefit of the fellowship of alcoholics anonymous I have not yet had a drink today, and for that I am truly grateful.

I did not quit drinking because I did not like liquor anymore. I quit because it was killing me and even so I kept at it until I was forced to admit that I was powerless over it - completely.

Alcohol for me is a poison, quite the same as arsenic. For me to justify drinking any concoction with a percentage of alcohol in it is tantamount to justification of putting arsenic in my tea.

I've had it with alcohol. I will strive not to be 0.005% alcoholic, but to be alcohol free.

Sobriety is a gift. I must cherish it, one day at a time.

Thank you for being here, for sharing. I needed that.

Thumbs down OJ and alcohol

on a recent shopping trip, i searched the frozen orange juice department for any containing alcohol. as i suspected, there were none. i know that at least in new york state, beverages containing ANY amount of alcohol has to be labeled as such. perhaps it was the .05% vodka dr. bob was mixing with his OJ that led to his confusion.

I have seen this before, about 4 years ago I spncered a guy that seemed to really want to get sober, at about 90 days he started drinking the non alchoholic beers, i looked into it and they do contain alchohol, and theres the issue of ramantasising drinking,
even if they were 100% alchohol free, I look at it kind of like an addict shooting up with baking soda instead of heroin,
Looks like very shaky ground to me,
anyway my friend is still drinking his fake beer, but I no longer sponcer him,
I have learned a couple things,
I cant get anybody sober, and I cant get anybody drunk,
I can share my experience strength and hope,

Hey Redapbt,

You sound like me with the animals. For everyone
out this just a little something. Animals have been
know to help old people live longer, the sick get well,
and help little children who are ill. Since I have had
all my dogs, and other animals, depression has gone
done alot.

Just something I wanted to share, since it may be a help
to you all. And to all a Happy New Year, SOBER i may
add.

love Madeline

You're talking my language...

Madeline...

You are right... animals do make it better... your food for
thought about what they are capable of is correct... I started
rescuing cats about 3 years ago and then moved up to the
dogs (pit bulls) as I fell in love with a beautiful male
red nosed pitty with no ears at all in the animal shelter... between the cats and the dogs, and sometimes the parrots
life is busy, but I would not change it for the world

Happy new year to you all as well from all of us!

Red APBT and the crew -
Velcro, Vanna, and Heidi (the dogs)
Clyde and T-bones (the macaws)
Scooter, Thumper, Baxter, Jonny, MG, Daisy Mae and Zoomy (the cats)

O douls

Non alcohol beer is for non alcoholics. There is a small amout of alcohol in no alcohol beer. Talk about false labeling. They should change the name to " O Fools" come and get it.

O Doul's

Don't be fooled. O' Douls has 0.5% alcohol in it. Go to www.o'doul's.com and go to FAQ's.

Thumbs down Odulls beer

Stay away from them they still contain .05 alchol in them. But then again like my first sponsor John said Fake it till you make it. Not shure if this is what he was refuring to but 0.5 alchol is still alchol. Other Old timers say to stay away from after shave and mouth wash. Mouth was has more alchol in it that a beer does. I guess my point is its a real serious subject one way or the other. No one can tell you how to run your program. None of us clame speritual profection, its a sujested path to subrity. The road is bumpy and take it from me ive had 2 1/2 years wased away the 3 then 4 1/2 now comming back to 4 years again. I guess the lucky thing is im still here to talk about it. Good luck and GOD bless

Sujestion Stay away from anything that resemble alchol alltogeather..:okay:
