LOL, that is what everyone is saying to me when I tell them how fantastic my trip was!

Well, I have some googling to do to figure that one out.

I hope you feel better, Jennie

Darn it I overslept.
It's already past 4:00

Rest up Jen, during your time off.
Fevers aren't pleasant. The high ones give me
endless-loop cartoon dreams....... never mind.

Good evening Suze.
Morning, Gilmer and Rose.

Went for full blood work yesterday.
It's been about 8 months.
EKG recently, was perfect.

Everything was ok the last time. (reasonably, anyway)
Should know results in a day or two.

Time for coffee.
Have a nice day!

G'morning Lunar and gang. I am so darn sick I don't want coffee.

I took some liquid cold meds and they wore off around 3 a.m. I have been awake ever since. Woke up in a pool of sweat. I guess I will toss one of these effervescent tabs into my water and chug it down.

*groan*

Good morning all. Sorry you're sick J. To answer your post way back... I'm definitely more in the south than I've ever been.... but aware that it's still the shallow end! I think I'm becoming fascinated with the differences exactly because at first they weren't noticeable. Little things like I was talking to a coworker about this show he'd seen that was set post-apocalypse. In this case the disaster was the failure of the power grid. And he said, as one detail, "And so in the show the South is actually richer and more powerful, and it's the North that's poor, because agriculture becomes the dominant industry." (He grew up in Mississippi). And it struck me because I've never thought about wealth distribution by North vs South... ever I mean. I think about which cities have good economies, and which regions (including places like Texas, Miami, Los Angeles, Phoenix). But he grew up in Mississippi and to him that was a great cultural reversal for the show to make, poor North and rich South. I don't even know that I would have thought of "North" and "South" as the regions if you'd asked me which region of the US was the richest (I probably would've said either "West Coast" or "Eastern Seaboard").

So, little things like that that don't really mean much on a day-to-day basis, but they're little windows into the different cultural lens on the world.

Rose, so excited for you! Being comfortable traveling alone opens up so many possibilities. It can be really hard but also it can be so much more immersive.

Off to work. Just wanted to say hello. I've been reading along but on my Kindle at night before bed, and the tablet interface doesn't have that nice "thanks" button on the posts.

I am so sad.. why after 26 years does he hate me so much.. It has gotten to be life with my Dad be careful what you say what you think and what you do.. the egg shells are piling up// and I have no were to turn.. Ardy, I'm so sorry.

Famtail, that's interesting though I would've picked the East Coast, the New England states as historically having most of the wealth.

Woke up feeling awful after the Nyquil cold & flu wore off. Took that Alka-Seltzer cold tab (orange flavor is tasty), woke up drenched in sweat, and feeling like the fever is retreating. Still feel weird though.

Suze, I appreciate it. No one here wants to baby me.

Lucy is on the bed with me. I think she knows something is amiss.

Ardy, that really is heartbreaking. Have you spoken up about not wanting to downsize to that degree?

Oh, and Suze... you inspire me too.

Today my head has been all over the place. I apparently don't handle being sick too well. I get emotionally disrupted, maybe partly because these headaches remind me of hangovers? Same after the surgery ... extremely depressing for me for weeks. I think I must derive a lot of well-being from being in motion, or at least, from mental activity, lol.

You were amazing to talk me through the angst after surgery. You have a gift of empathy.

I get emotional when I'm sick too. Like you mention I think it connects me back to feeling hungover and I feel ashamed and down on myself. Hope you feel better soon.

Ardy, I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through.
