What's so "interesting" Sparkle, if you don't mind me asking?
I've done strict paleo before and I get the carb flu, cravings, etc.
is that what you mean?
Actually it's interesting more from an emotional angle -- we ate fairly well before we started so the adjustment physically hasn't been a huge shift.

But I "quit dieting forever" two years ago because of obsessive compulsive behavior, so I'm having to make daily, sometimes hourly, check-ins on my emotional state because it would be sooooo easy for me to just turn this information-gathering experience into, you know, The Thing That Will Fix and Save Me Forever and Ever.

I don't want to hijack Sleepie's celebratory thread, but maybe we can continue to discuss here?

We're all looking for that " magic bullet" Sparkle! I also need to make dietary changes, and yep, " food issues" to put it one way, can come into play. But I'm glad you seem to be aware and I hope you will enjoy health and happiness in your new changes.

Thanks Aussie!

My first day in AA the chairperson celebrated 10 years.

10 years!

He might as well have said he went to the moon. The longest I was ever sober for was maybe 3 weeks.

One day at a time. The first year seemed to take forever but after that... the days just add up.

So please remember this because it's the stone cold truth... If I can get 23 years so can YOU!

23 years is literally over half my life... if I make it to the next decade in good health I will be more than surprised. That's the next real hurdle is straightening out my diet and making myself exercise.

You kicked a tough double addiction sleepie--
I have no doubt you can get the diet and exercise stuff in order as well.

Always sober no matter what. It has been a very hard summer and first one with no benzos, no drinking. For some reason it is even tougher than last year when I was detoxing.
