The little red camper is here and parked in the garage, Suze. It's an oldie, lol. 1971 to be exact. But it's really cute and hopefully has potential. I already have two sets of string patio white lights. I'll get the awning, and one of the zip around screen rooms to make an extra 'room' outside because there are bugs galore down here in the humid south. The screen room will make it much more comfortable to sit outside.
I haven't looked inside yet. Brian has described it to me, and I saw the pics posted online, so I pretty much know what to expect when we open the top.
So now I'll be looking for a small cabinet, sink, cooktop, bedding, rug, and curtains. I already have some nice outside chairs as well as a stand-alone hammock. I will order the shower popup room and port-a-potty.

May we see a photo?
Please?
All kidding aside, be sure the wheel bearings are sound,
not just re-greased , but changed in the last 30 years.
Another tip from a tire guy,----
Trailer tires, in general sit longer than they are rolling along at an ambient temperature.
This leads to them looking somewhat OK, but typically they oxidize and crack.
Take the time to check the bearings, tires, and let's not
forget the spare; even it it looks new.
I would bet, being a '71, at best the tires are from '85.
Totally unacceptable for your guys safety.
Please be careful.

It was hard to get good pics. Our garage is cluttered and the garage door won't open all the way due to the camper being in the way. So I couldn't open it for maximum light.
I hesitate to show pics because of the clutter...
Hold on one sec and I will pic out a few.

There are too many little beds in there. I'm taking most of that out and putting in a little cabinet with sink, cooktop, and maybe on one end, a little dinette.
It came with an AC unit and a mini-fridge. The power works. We tested it. And it's got some sort of tubing and a water reservoir somewhere.
I can't get to the tires because of all the clutter. The seller said they're newish. He showed us how to set up the top part. I hope I can remember later.
I took pics without popping both ends out, btw. So it's larger than it looks, but barely.
The ugly light fixtures will have to go, so will the shiny blue curtains, lol. I'm probably going to use cream colored linen curtains. linen bedsheets, and an easily washable floor rug.

There are cabinets inside; I just couldn't see them until I moved all the cushions. There's also a dinette table. That was surprising.
There's also a skylight in the roof.
But the canvas is old and the plastic is moldy. That entire canvas with the zippered windows needs to be replaced. That's concerning because this is so old, I don't know if there's a replacement that will fit.
The AC works great. I plugged it in and turned it on. The lights work fine.
The door is old and creaky; doesn't fit smoothly.
It will take an investment to get this thing renewed and comfortable. I don't know where to begin.

Jennie, your smile is fabulous and I'm sure it makes all those weeks and months of suffering worthwhile.
And, the camper looks great. I think you will find the pop-up quite easy once you do it a few times. We could go from completely up and extended to ready to roll in 30 minutes.
