I am officially all packed. The fun stuff starts tomorrow!
Yeah, I imagine that the South I'm picturing doesn't exist. So I'm not too attached to it. But kayaking down a river seems like an achievable southern goal. Actually in general I don't think I have too many ideas of what to expect, which is really exciting. It's the first time in a long while where I've moved somewhere this blindly.

Things are going well on the renovation and for the most part, it's fun. I think it's going to be awesome to sit in the new place when it's finished and look at the floor that I laid it with my own hands.

We're at home now. She is in my bed resting. She was given an antibiotic, a pain reliever/anti-inflammatory, and a shot for nausea. The vet is fairly certain these are tick-related symptoms. We removed several ticks from here yesterday.
She lapped at her water bowl and her Pedialyte. Now, to get her to eat something so we can give her the antibiotics.

We still haven't gotten her to eat yet, and so no antibiotics are in her system yet ...
I called the Emergi-Vet to ask how long it should take. They said the anti-nausea meds will last for up to 24 hours, and that if she still hasn't eaten by morning, to take her to our regular vet at that point.
She isn't out of the woods yet, and for that reason, I am very concerned.

Oh, poor little Katie. Those darn ticks are so dangerous. I hope she eats so she can get the antibiotics into her system. I'm glad you were able to bring her home and to keep her comfortable. Hopefully Katie will be interested in food when you get home from work, Jennie!

By the way, they had to muzzle her today in order to give her the shot. The look on her face was priceless -- total disgust that someone would dare to muzzle her, lol. She went up on her hind legs and reared back like a bucking horse, lmao!
I'm online right now ordering a soft muzzle. It should help us when we de-tick her and give her ear meds in the future. She yelps and acts like we're killing her. She snaps at my husband sometimes.

Welcome Fred!
J, Sending healthy vibes Katie's way. I hope she's doing better soon.
Anna, your floor project sounds like it will be so satisfying!
I've arrived in my new city. In the South! yes! I had a beautiful weekend in the mountains and now I'm looking at apartments starting in the morning. It's pretty surreal.

Glad to hear you've arrived safely, Fantail.
Let us know how the apartment hunt goes.
We had to shove the pills down Katie's throat this morning. It wasn't easy but she did swallow them, and she kept them down. She has already eaten some cheese and turkey. And a bite of a biscuit. She's drinking water, too. I think she's going to be ok. We will have to keep forcing the pills down her throat. She hates it but she has to get better. She is too smart for us to trick her by putting them into her food. She finds them every time, lol.
