2,974 days sober on this nice early morning.

My sobriety is one of the first things that I think about each day.

I must stay sober.

2,975 days sober today
my dad's health is failing fast here lately
I thank God that I can spend some quality time with him
he mentioned the other day that
"he wouldn't have given two cents for me back in my drunken days"
rather painful
but -- all the more reason for staying sober today

I think of myself at times as the Prodigal Son
but one thing to remember
the Prodigal Son did not return to his sin
thus so as to carry this out to fulfillment
I must stay sober.

Otherwise I have fooled myself yet again.

That's sad, Bob. I am sure that's gotta hurt. Maybe it is his way of saying he's happy that you're sober. Sometimes family find it hard to be forthright.
