Please, Is there anyone who can talk to me?

I am a severe alcoholic. Practicing, at the moment.

If anyone is willing to chat, please PM me. I won't waste forum space with my problems. Please reply or PM me if you are willing to deal with a nutcase like me!

Thanks.

You;re not wasting forum space. This is exactly what SR is for

It's your call but a thread is a way to get a lot of support and advice quickly from a whole lot of people. I think it's better than PM?

Thank you, you guys. I am a severe alcoholic, have come close to death too many times while detoxing.

I'm just so tired of the game.

I looked online and there are no meetings within walking distance of me. I'm in Waynesboro, VA right now.

I don't know what to do - I managed to taper myself off of alcohol a couple of weeks ago. And then BAM! I'M BACK to drinking. I want to just get over this, once and for all. Please, I've been to a million meetings, heard everything. I don't know what to do at this point!

Is rehab an option at all SG?

Failing that can you ring the local AA office? maybe organise a lift?

Hi sobergirl. It's upsetting you, naturally. I'm finding that doing anything on my own always, like always, has a the same result _ same as you, back in the bottle. I stress about f****** everything!!

What's the deal with walking to meetings?

Thanks Dee, there is no local number here. Trust me, I looked. It is really sad, to be honest, no 24 hour number for people who are desperate. (I did my homework, not that it did me any good).

Rehab is not an option because I don't have the money.

I don't have a ride.

The closest meeting is over 2 miles from here, not walking distance. Furthermore, there is no phone number to even ensure people will be at the meeting.

Have you considered a medically supervised detox? I don't believe that an ER can turn you away for lack of funds.

If AA is not an option in your area, perhaps you could look into Celebrate Recovery or Smart Recovery?

Also, I have heard members here talk about on-line AA meetings

I have no experience with the above link - found it in a Google search. Some AA-ers should be along soon to point you in a better direction.

You can call the AA National Hotline anytime, 24/7

1-855-435-5596

http://drug-alcoholhelpline.com/arti...84ehoC_Wjw_wcB

There are a couple of other toll free phone numbers at that website.

I think the 24 hour numbers a good idea, and online chat room
On a lot of contemporary speaker tapes I've heard that hq could call local meeting and organise a lift
Is that an option?

and once again, I am without anyone to talk to.

Why on earth did I bother here? Nothing here will change anything in my life.

Thanks to those who actually care! I love you all.

Love,
