Fifty Shades of Mystic Okra
my dear friend, midnightblue
Here is the 3 alarm fire super duper emergency pull it out of your pocket one size fits all mantra that I have gone to tens of thousands of times. I didn't want to say hundreds of thousands of times because I thought you might think I was exaggerating.
first you have to pay attention
then along comes some nasty thought (don't worry, you won't have to wait long)
you spot the thought and say, "there" you have just completely your first task
Then you say, "let that go and just relax"
There
Let that go
And just relax.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Believe me, you will get plenty of practice. the bad thoughts have the high ground and the momentum, so you will have to be vigilant. Right now they are the Goliath, and you are the david. but now you have stones for your sling shot.
You go after those thoughts as they come. And they will. they don't hide. We know that.
I even think about timing myself, though I don't actually do that. how long does it take me to recognize the unwanted thought. ten minutes? ten seconds? five seconds? you practice getting better and better at it. quicker and quicker.
there. let that go and just relax.
midnight, I believe that you will be surprised that you will get tiny little moments of peace, and I know, and you know that even tiny little moments of peace are great when you have been getting none.
And you just keep doing that. And, if your experience is anything like mine, you will be amazed at how you can begin to just start to kinda, sorta, maybe just a little begin to get a handle on a runaway mind. and it is a beautiful, beautiful thing. It is that glass of ice tea on a hot day. that is my experience.
And even if you aren't under attack by your thoughts at any one moment, it's a nice little mantra to practice, so that when you come under attack by your thoughts next time (and you will) going into the mantra will become second nature, like they say in the military, it becomes muscle response -- your training just kicks in.
my very best to you
I'm here!
SO called me yesterday at work. We are fixing our deck and he was talking to me a little about it and making it a little bigger. He said, "he he, we have a big deck.." Budumbump.
Sigghhh. Yep, 12 year old boy humor.
Mystic Music
A lil Thread Theme Music, Maestro...
'Into The Mystic' ~ Van Morrison
For our Moment Of Zen, the Pic below is East of Fort Williams in the Scottish Highlands. Not Van Morrison's Ireland, but it's all I got. 'Braveheart' was filmed nearby, and I'm pretty sure this is the Opener for the Starz TV Series 'Outlander' that has Women Of A Certain Age lusting over Lead Character 'Jamie'. They all seem to wilt over a Kilt.
Mesaman, this is absolutely gorgeous. The closest I have been to Scotland was having a little Cairn Terrier.
AG: you would have definitely to start from the "ground up" to get a "Shango gig"
Initiation is a very elaborate and lengthy process and you have a year of rigorous spiritual discipline and apprenticeship.
I'd walk ten miles on my hands and knees
Ain't not doubt about it cause it's you i am to please
I would wrestle with a lion and a grizzly bear
it's my life baby, and I don't care
Aint that tough enough?
sung by the fabulous thunderbirds
