Am I the only one who can smell this disgusting scent? After abstaining I can smell a formaldehyde scent. It's nasty and it scares me! Has anyone else smelled this?

When did you last drink?

I have found since I stopped drinking and smoking my sense of smell is more sensitive.
I hate the smell of smoke and drink, especially stale drink.

Could that be it?

Yes, I can always smell it right after a relapse.

It passes with sober time as your liver catches up on trying to save
your life in spite of your own stupid actions

the only odor i've smelled that is odd to me is ammonia. generally if i do something very physical i might smell it. its much less since i quit drinking. But never did understand that.

The diabetes comment just clicked with me. I got my degree in Human Biology, I was going to go to either physical therapy school or med school. A funky odor can be a preliminary sign of diabetes. Also urinating a lot.

Gross alert. When I was drinking huge amounts every night and sweating all day it smelled rather odd. I showered every day but I think I had that smell.
