Hi lycanlanz, just be sure to make it to your doctor appointment. You don't want to be too wasted when you get there, you need them to take you seriously. As long as you make it there I think you are at least headed in the right direction, let us know how it goes.

i don't know, she was really vague and not very helpful. i asked about thiamin and she said they're not allowed to prescribe that any more. i wasn't wasted when i went, i was as clear as possible though i have a mild stutter and social anxiety so i sometimes fall over my words whether sober or otherwise, i'm not sure if this had a negative impact on the way i was presenting. she sounded like she wanted to help but there was nothing more than you will have to wait to talk to them about doing a detox programme and that i could either call them myself or she could have them try to contact me. i felt like running out to the pub afterwards but i didn't.

maybe i should try to see a different doctor, she was one of the temporary doctors that come through the GP and they pass off all the call on the day appointments off to them, so if you need to see someone on the same day it's some doctor you don't know, and if you want to see someone you know you can't get an appointment for weeks.

I am sorry this was your experience today. FWIW, I would make an appointment with a doctor who knows you and attend when it comes up. But always remember A&E if you seriously need help with withdrawing.
