Campral - Anyone ever try it?
I'm taking it now, have been for a few months now. not sure if it works or not tbh, I had less cravings at first I thought but I did still end up drinking (admittedly that was after actually avoiding quite a few near-relapses, so maybe I would have drank sooner without it?)
I'm 7 days sober now and still taking it, highest dose now. I've had less cravings but I've also been going to AA meetings, so who knows? I'm at the stage where il just try everything I can, and I've had no side effects so no harm in it from my perspective
I definitely don't find it to be effective enough on its own, but it probably does help along with other support etc

Ps a better way to articulate what I was trying to say is that I've found it to be quite effective with physical cravings and pull I felt towards alcohol, including desire for taste (the smell of alcohol bothers me now on this too) but has no impact on obsessive thinking or desire for emotional relief - if I was anxious or something bad happened, I want to drink just as badly on or off campral
Hopefully this helps
Like I said I have no side effects at all though, so worth a try?
